This workshop is intended to be very hands-on and practical. Besides doing site surveying and layout, we will be installing earthworks and planting thousands of perennial plants. For that reason, we will assume some level of understanding of Mark's work on the part of all participants. The below resources should be more than sufficient to bring anyone wanting to attend up to speed on the why's and what's of Restoration Agriculture.

Mark has done several podcasts with Diego Footer of Permaculture Voices. Many of these are quite in depth and give a helpful summary and context to Mark's project.
Commissioned by Acres USA, Restoration Agriculture explains how we can have all of the benefits of natural, perennial ecosystems and create agricultural systems that imitate nature in form and function while still providing for our food, building, fuel and many other needs — in your own backyard, farm or ranch.
